How can you prepare your property for capturing?

First impressions are very important. When a potential client starts exploring your online listing, the imaging they say will have a massive impact on their perception of your property. Clean and organized spaces will have the viewers envisioning your property as high quality and important, while photos with messes, dirty floors/windows or cluttered environments can leave a bad impression and turn away potential leads.

Here are some steps you can take in preparation for a photoshoot to show of your property at its finest:

  • Move vehicles out of the driveway and park them in a garage or on the street (not directly in front of the house

  • If possible, hide garbage/recycle bins in garage

  • Roll up garden hoses

  • Open and raise all blinds, windows and curtains if possible. The more natural light we have, the better the photos will be!

  • Remove all you can from countertops/vanities (bread, cereal boxes, cookie jars, soap, hand towels, toiletries, etc…) so they are clean and open

  • Remove items fastened to refrigerator

  • Make beds and hide laundry. A tidy bedroom makes it even easier for someone to envision themselves in it

  • Tidy up or hide children’s toys

  • Hide pet toys, food bowls, and beds (cat trees are ok!)

  • Tidy or hide stacks of papers, mail, newspapers, magazines on desks, tables and countertops

  • If possible, please replace any blown lightbulb

  • Help the photographer by keeping pets and people out of the way during the shoot
